They are a bit less "scientific" to cut, but they are not that hard to do with a small plane, just eyeball/measure things, plane one bevel in, then plane the mating piece to fit.

I have a short post on how I accomplished them at http://donumvitae.wordpress.com/2010/10/11/rolling-bevels/.

I agree with the other posters: you are doing a fantastic job. You will have a gorgeous boat when you are done.

WayneWaynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16181457919823841913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-924768814112596827.post-21150007850313266992014-11-11T07:39:12.831+08:002014-11-11T07:39:12.831+08:00Hi Suzy, Wow it's really starting to look like...Hi Suzy, Wow it's really starting to look like a boat and a hand crafted piece of art. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh one day. Enjoy the build, talk soon.Bretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05329952545246356344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-924768814112596827.post-23630416748878265452014-11-10T08:24:50.588+08:002014-11-10T08:24:50.588+08:00Wear a hat Suzy. No problems with epoxy in my hair because I have none.
Soon you will have your boat planked. The hardest one is the one you just did. Incredible neatness... Still don't know how you do it. Keep doing it.Rikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10169444246876493102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-924768814112596827.post-62371494617994621032014-11-09T23:21:32.595+08:002014-11-09T23:21:32.595+08:00Congratulations on reaching this milestone Suzy! ...Congratulations on reaching this milestone Suzy! Your Nav is looking fantastic. Outstanding workmanship - the best I've ever seen. One suggestion, if I may, is to cut your gains in the bow planks before you glue them in place, and to make a router jig to cut the gains. It makes the job much quicker and easier. I have info on how to make and use the tool at my blog here:
http://navigatorjoel.blogspot.com/2010/09/gain-machine.html
Joel Bergenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15368971898993662883noreply@blogger.com
